About Emily from Language Travel Adoptee
Being born in China but adopted by an American white family, my identity was very much judged and disbelieved by societies that spoke the languages I learned abroad. Though this did not stop me from teaching myself 6 more afterwards, it got me to reflect... How does not only learning to improve language learning strategies, but also the part our personal experiences play in it, shape our language journey? Welcome to Language Travel Adoptee. I help others weave their life story into language learning by being vulnerable with my own. By doing so, I hope to reach a global audience to spread more vulnerability, perspectives, and kindness throughout the language learning community. After all, our life experiences are our greatest language learning tool!
